Purpose in Practice Workshop
Meaningful Contribution in Work, Life and Community
Service Description
How do we truly make a difference? And how do we do that in ways that feel meaningful, sustainable, and true to who we are? This workshop explores practical, research-informed approaches to understanding and living your unique sense of purpose, whether in your personal life, your work, or your contributions to community. Together, we’ll move beyond abstract ideas of purpose and into something more lived and tangible. Through guided reflection, conversation, and shared inquiry, you’ll have space to: - explore what gives your life meaning and where that meaning is already present - notice how your values, relationships, and experiences shape your sense of purpose - reflect on where there may be tension, misalignment, or overextension, and what ease might look like instead - consider small, grounded shifts that bring greater clarity, focus, and congruence to how you contribute This is a space for people who care deeply about the impact they have, and who are curious about how to live that impact more intentionally, without needing to have everything figured out. Stephanie McCarthy is a facilitator, coach, and writer who is deeply interested in what helps people feel more connected to themselves, to each other, and to what matters most. She creates spaces where people can slow down enough to listen more closely to their own lives, especially in the midst of all that we carry, navigate, and hold. Her work is grounded in the belief that we can name what is hard and still move toward what feels meaningful, and that when people feel seen, valued, and heard, something in them begins to open. Alongside her facilitation work, Stephanie writes about wholehearted leadership, purpose, and wellbeing, exploring the intersections of compassion, belonging, and how we live and work with greater intention. This perspective is shaped by her background in coaching and leadership development, including work within healthcare and higher education, as well as graduate study in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, where her research focused on group coaching and positive relationships. She continues to deepen this work through ongoing study in meaning and purpose, including recent coursework with Dr. Michael Steger and Kiko Kilansky. She brings a thoughtful, relational approach to conversations about purpose and belonging, holding space for people to consider what it might look like to live with greater clarity and congruence, in ways that are grounded
